The creatures that now inhabit the moon bear a striking resemblance to the Xenomorph and the Deacon, the Xenomorph-like creature created at the end of Prometheus. There are two vessels and their journeys that this series follows. The crew members just narrowly escape the Xenomorph outbreak, but several of the Xenomorph have hidden on the vessel. When the crew lands on what was thought to be an inhabitable rock, they are attacked by the Xenomorph and must escape off the spacecraft.
They quickly realize that there are heavy signs of life on the moon LV, and it is there where Derrick Russel discovers an Engineer in stasis, which he awakens. The second vessel is the Geryon which served as an engine core, meaning it carried a group of mini-vessels within it.
On one of those small vessells is a crew filming for documentary purposes. The leader of this crew, Angela Foster, is less focused on the documentary at hand and is more focused on recovering the USCSS Prometheus with the intent of solving the mystery of what happened to Peter Weyland.

I am not a movie writer but I must say when watching the Prometheus movie I thought I seen a connection to Predator and Alien as well. If you remember back to the part were the one crew member was infected and then started to feel sick and started to change and then they torched him out side the ship.
Well if you recall after that when they went to check because they thought he was still alive but by then he had changed completely and looked more humanoid like how the Predator looks. I think ridley hates more the way the crossover was executed rather than the concept of the crossover if it was done in more the comic and novel fashion with a good script and director. But i think Ridleys stance was he did not see the point, regardless, but i would say the way it was handled is something Ridley was not fond of but i am sure he said he has not seen the movies though.. Nope :- Ridley and Fox clearly stated more than once their opinions about the AVP movies and no way in hell are they coming into this tale.
I get the avp and avpr sucked but that's because it wasn't done right. There's a mask inside the old man's room in Prometheus, that looks like the face plate to a predator mask. It's smaller than it should be, but interesting.
