Not only this, but it'd give Boruto a much-needed feminist boost. Sakura would gain more importance and bring new chemistry into the government among the likes of adviser, Shikamaru, by possibly bringing Hinata and Ino into the male-oriented council. Like Sakura, they've both fallen into backseat roles -- such powerful women need to be making more big decisions for the village. Sakura also has a warmer feel to her, which can really revamp the Hokage role, especially with diplomacy being one of its key aspects now.
Her perspective is kinder than the aggressive Tsunade and this could create a new dynamic for the position, especially as she'd try assiduously to live up to the title.
After all, she knows the ways of a Hokage as she's trained and been prepped by some of the best to take up that mantle. Sadly, she's long been treated as a peripheral character; a Hail Mary play in the past.
Making her Hokage would help rectify that, giving Sakura a lot more poignant agency. This would also help inspire the ambitious Sarada, her daughter, to follow in her mom's footsteps, and even give Sakura more screen-time with Sasuke. Naruto Uzumaki's death has been teased since the very beginning of the series where Kawaki was fighting Boruto in the prologue. While on the surface it looks like Naruto is dead, his wording suggests that he's sent him to another dimension with a space-time ninjutsu.
Furthermore, the battle indicates that whatever happens to Naruto does so through Kawaki and not Isshiki, meaning Naruto most certainly won't die here. Isshiki Otsutsuki is incredibly strong, recently confirmed to be potentially stronger than even Kaguya Otsutsuki.
As such, defeating him requires Naruto to go beyond all his limits and put his life on the line. Undoubtedly, this fight will leave him on death's door and that's where Sakura comes in.
With her advanced medical skills and her ability to use Byakugou , Sakura could potentially help Naruto survive this dangerous ordeal and in doing so, gain more relevance in the Naruto story. Naruto is the strongest shinobi in the entire series and his recent powers put him well and above Sasuke as well.
Without him, the village would fall apart as there is no successor to replace him right now. Sasuke needs to defend the village from the outside , which would mean Konoha will drastically weaken if Naruto dies. While Naruto won't be there to look after the village forever, he has to be there until Boruto or Sarada become worthy of taking the mantle. Sealed inside him as an infant, the fox demon gives Naruto plenty of spunky, tricky, and playful characteristics; it also gives him insane amounts of additional power boosts, something that makes Naruto a target.
Steal the fox demon, inherit its powers. Naruto survives several attempts of enemies wanting to steal Kurama from him, leading to his manga death, as this next villain not only wants the Nine-Tailed Fox, but all ten of the tailed beasts to enact his plan. But is it really Obito who lands the fateful blow? Obito plots with Madara Uchiha for the ultimate takeover of the Naruto universe, setting into motion all events that lead up to the Shinobi War arc. Obito appears to be the villain of the story, until it's revealed that Madara was simply using Obito for his own gain.
Through a series of complicated chakra manipulations, a dying and reformed Obito is forced to use his powers of resurrection to revive the big-bad, Madara Uchiha, into a physical body. Through Obito's powers, Madara returns to the battle and sets his target on Naruto. Or would he just be free? Let me know in the comments below.
