He is often teased because he is shorter than most boys of his age, though sometimes he appears to be the same height as his friends. Jimmy's wardrobe consists almost exclusively of red T-shirts that sport his trademark symbol of a yellow atom. In the shorts and the films, he wore purple-blue shorts and brown loafers, but for the series proper, he switched to denim blue jeans and a pair of grey and white Converse-style sneakers.
His undergarments consist of red-orange plaid boxers and grey boxer briefs in the movie. He also wears his light-blue lab coat with the same neutron symbol on the back and sometimes his welding mask during his course of lab work. In the pilot, he wore a red and white striped shirt instead of his trademark red one. A picture of him in this outfit can be seen several times in the show. When he goes to sleep, he wears a gray pajama shirt and red velvet pajama pants.
Jimmy is a very intelligent kid, having an impossible I. In many episodes, his classmates are angered because he is so smart and keeps outdoing them in anything math and science-related. This brain, a source of constant comment, allows him to invent devices that accomplish even the impossible. This usually leads Jimmy causing accidental trouble to Retroville. He designs his wild inventions to help him deal with bothersome chores, but they often end up causing a bigger problem.
They do put him in exciting adventures though, and make life more interesting. In the moment of crisis, he will urge his brain by saying, "Think, think, think! Jimmy will then shout, "Brain Blast!
In the third season, however, he seems to stop Brain Blasting and comes up with ideas right away, with " Fundemonium " being the only episode that season to use the "Brain Blast! Jimmy is a very nice guy, although sometimes he can be a bit arrogant and a know-it-all. Jimmy has shown to be quite irritable around most people, mainly his friends, and thinking he's above it all.
Sometimes, Jimmy can be unsympathetic to other people's feelings and can come off as a smart-alec or a nerd. Regardless, he enjoys being a hero, often taking a staunch stand against anyone he believes to be evil. He won't back down from his beliefs, and he strongly believes in himself.
Jimmy is quite charming when he least tries to be, such as at the party, that he throws at his parents' absence in the episode "Party at Neutron's". Despite his pride and arrogance, he cares deeply for his friends and his family and does everything he can to help them. However, he does have a few weaknesses; one of them is his poor communication skills. When Jimmy enters the Teleportation Booth, the game player could choose anywhere to go by choosing one of the buttons and the booth teleports Jimmy to that area.
First Appearance: Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron. Jimmy Negatron used this invention of Jimmy Neutron's to try to change the past. Jimmy and Goddard used it to follow him. They first travel back to Halloween, then to Christmas, and then to Independence Day. Main Article: Neutronic De-Dorkinator. When Jimmy's sick patch that made him and all his friends sick got growing skin that absorbed over it, Jimmy and Sheen used this shrink ray to shrink themselves down to microscopic size so they could travel inside Carl so Jimmy could extract 1 mitochondria from the germs that have spread in his bloodstream so Jimmy could cure everyone.
Jimmy tried to use this invention to contact Aliens. Sheen arrives with his new taking Ultra Lord action figure that says 27 different sayings. After flipping the Yellowscope's "on" switch, a saying on Sheen's Ultra Lord watch is amplified successfully, causing part of the frame of Mr. Applebee's house to start falling towards them instead of transmitting anything into space.
Jimmy used this invention made from his mobile of the Solar System to make his bed. When Jimmy shoot a suction cup dart from his suction cup dart gun at the sun in the middle of the mobile, it moved over the bed and lowered the planets down and they opened and picked up the sheet like a grabber claws and the Solar System mobile made Jimmy's bed.
Jimmy removed the tone generator and substitute a voice synthesizer, altering this invention so it can read minds.
He used it to read Cindy's mind to see if she has any schemes for the next day, but when lightning hit the power lines, Jimmy and Cindy get zapped and their bodies get switched. When Jimmy and Cindy switched bodies, Jimmy uses a Virtual Brain Pod to dump their minds onto the machine, allowing their friends to manually sort their memories into the correct bodies.
Jimmy, Goddard, Carl and Sheen used it to travel to the future to see their future selves. In the alternate future, they used it in Future Jimmy's Lab to get back home. This spray makes anyone and anything it touches mad with power. When Jimmy tested it on some planets, it caused them to go crazy and attack Sheen and Carl. When Carl accidentally packed it instead of the lavender in Jimmy's birthday present for Libby, this caused the future to change becoming a terrible future ruled by Libby as an evil dictator.
By the end of the episode, Jimmy, Goddard, Carl and Sheen managed to destroy the Megalomanium and turn the future back to normal.
Jimmy's evil clone used this device to create Evil Earth with caused real Earth to fade into an oblivion. Jimmy was though able to stop Evil Jimmy from causing real Earth to fade and reverse the process and was able to save the planet. Main Article: Jimmy's Freeze Ray. When Jimmy Neutron and Timmy Turner were having a fight to see who goes on a date with Cindy first, Jimmy uses this device to see if Timmy can avoid it.
He does so causing it to hit his watch with Cosmo and Wanda in it. First Appearance: " Ultralord vs. This device hypnotizes anyone it zaps and whoever gets hypnotized does whatever their told to do. When McSpanky's started flying around Retroville destroying the other fast food restaurants, Jimmy tried to use this ray to take the restaurant down.
When Seymour who was jealous of Jimmy, made his Jet Pack fly all over the class room to get him in trouble, Jimmy used this Ray to catch it before it could cause any harm. This rocket vehicle of Jimmy's was first used as the lead ship of the Amusement Park Space Armada in the movie.
While looking in his locker for his DNA Accelerator, Jimmy took this invention that looks like a walkie-talkie out. When everyone in Jimmy's class seem to love Cindy's large, pink, overwatered plant besides Jimmy's piece of spinach, Jimmy used this device to make his spinach more impressing. But when his spinach spits it's seeds into Ms. Fowl's mouth, she grows into a giant green feet tall planet monster that terrorizes Retroville.
Fowl's mouth which causes her to shrink back to her normal size. It also shows up in tangent with the shrink ray in "Broadcast Blues" to make a replication of the Suns Carbon-Nitrogen cycle.
It was used as an adempt to distract the audience from Cindy, Libby, and Brittany's dancing. The audience was not entertained. Carl and Sheen believe that this must be Santa's saliva on the Cheez-Nip and, when Jimmy accidentally suggests it, they decide to go to the North Pole. When Jimmy realizes they forgot to deliver Christmas presents to Retroville, Jimmy tried to use this module to get there in time.
But it caused Jimmy's rocket to fly way too fast and break apart. Santa Claus was though able to save Jimmy, Carl, Sheen and Goddard from falling and since Santa's sleigh could handle going at lightspeed better then Jimmy's rocket, they were able to use the Warp Module to deliver Christmas to Retroville just in a nick of time.
Last Appearance: Dino Disaster! This device could make any small objects larger when it zaps them. But when Jimmy uses it on his dinosaur eraser, he accidentally brings it to life and it attacks Retroville Elementary School. It causes trouble all over the school, but Jimmy was able to use a telescope to shrink the Dino back to it's normal size. While exploring Queen Hasabataslapya 's tomb, Carl accidentally used it to bring a group of mummies to life. But thanks to Libby since Queen Hasabataslapya looks just like her, she was able to stop the mummies from chasing them.
This device explodes and gives Jimmy and his friends furniture to use on their camp group when it does. Jimmy invented this headband for his Dad to use on the Parent-Child Picnic Games so they could beat Cindy and her Mom who turns out to really be her Aunt in disguise , but he and his dad got disqualified for cheating. Jimmy used this machine to create clones of himself to do his chores for him. Including Evil Jimmy who caused chaos in Retroville.
When Cindy, Libby and Brittany interrupted Jimmy's sent with their "Funky Jam Dance Party with some science " show, he used this invention to make Cindy, Libby, Brittany and the others float up into the air and in a circle as he tries to get his show back. Jimmy used this invention to make weather for his school play. But Sheen accidentally caused it to create a tornado which lifted the school up into the air. But Jimmy managed to stop it and was able to save everyone's lives.
Jimmy used this invention to go into Carl's dreams and helping him whenever something bad happens in the dream. Jimmy then finds out that Carl is having bad dreams because of a giant Lima bean due to the fact that Carl hates Lima beans.
Later on, after Jimmy escapes the dream, the giant Lima bean follows him out of the machine and attacks Jimmy, Carl, Sheen and Goddard around the lab. Main Article: Crabgrass Accelerator. Jimmy used it to accelerate the growth cycle of crabgrass in order to end the feud between the Neutrons and the Wheezers. When Carl used the Crabgrass Accelerator and accidentally turned the crabgrass into vicious crab like monsters that attacked Jimmy and the others, Hugh Neutron used this sword to kill some of them to save Jimmy and the others.
Jimmy also used it in he and his friends' school play in "Out, Darn Spotlight", and to fight Eustace on their adventure on Mars.
In this parody of Frosty the Snowman , after Jimmy and his friends built a snowman that looks like Patrick Star from SpongeBob SquarePants , Jimmy put this device that looks like a top hat on his head which brings him to life. Jimmy and the gang loved Patrick the Snowman at first, but then he started to annoy them too much. So Jimmy and his friends send him into the distant future where he then annoys their future selves. When Judy explains to Hugh that she mentioned to Jimmy how hard it is to wash the outdoor windows, this toaster could be seen washing the kitchen window right next to Hugh.
This toaster delivers newspapers to Jimmy's parents. When it was first seen, it delivered a newspaper to Hugh, but it launched the paper into his face. Jimmy let Carl wear this Jet Pack so he could fly.
After Carl drinks some Purple Flurp and burps into it's tube which caused him to fly up into the air. As Carl kept on burping, he kept on flying. Goddard gets one in "Best in Show".
Judy gets one in "Maternatron Knows Best". The only season one episode to revolve around Libby is "Beach Party Mummy", which is also the season one finale. Adults Are Useless : In the movie, this is taken to its literal extreme when the grown-up population of Retroville is kidnapped by aliens. Played straight with Jimmy's dad in the TV series, who is probably one of the biggest idiots in the city.
Inverted with Jimmy's mom. Aesop Amnesia : There wouldn't be a lot of conflict if Jimmy and his friends didn't have to learn time and time again that abusing science for their own selfish and personal end always has consequences.
